Second edition, second printing without the McBride logo on page 269. Steinbeck's first book, published by Robert M. McBride in 1929 just two weeks before Black Friday in an edition of 2476 copies. Covici Friede printed their own edition, probably in early 1937, using photo-offset plates made from the McBride first edition. This second printing, without McBride's logo on page 269, mentions Steinbeck's OF MICE AND MEN on the front panel of the dust jacket. Goldstone and Payne A1c.
