First edition in English. Signed by Siodmak on the title page. Romantic melodrama about an attempt to sabotage a floating platform being towed to the location where it is to be used as a refueling station for transatlantic air traffic. Translation of F.P. 1 ANTWORTET NICHT (1930). The 1932 UFA film, directed by Karl Hartl and scripted by Walter Reisch and Siodmak, was based on this novel. Siodmak went on to a long career in Hollywood as a scriptwriter for numerous films (many in the science fiction fantasy genre), he also penned the classic novel Donavan's Brain.
