The author's first book, first published in nine serialized parts in THE PASSING SHOW in 1935 under the title of "Sub-Sahara." One of the few lost race novels set in the future. In 1964 a decadent pigmy race, originally of Egyptian descent, is discovered in caverns under the Sahara. Harris is better known under his pseudonym John Wyndham. Offsetting to front and rear endpapers, some light foxing throughout, fore-edge foxed, top edge dust soiled, some patchy fading to edges, a very good copy in a very good dust jacket which is priced 2'6 on the spine panel. Some foxing to the verso of the jacket with some bleed through, dust soiling to spine panel, small closed tear to upper spine panel at right corner, smaller closed tear to lower left corner of front panel.
