An abridged version of TARZAN AND THE FORBIDDEN CITY (1938). The first Burroughs book issued as a mass market paperback. Issued in the short lived L.A. Bantam series this is one of the few which had pictorial wrappers, all were issued in printed wrappers. Zeuschner 570. Age darkening to text paper with mostly mild foxing throughout, the first several pages a bit heavier, red pencil markings to interior of front cover, light wear and lamination pulls to edges of front cover (lamination pulls to front covers of these books are very common), mild edge wear to rear cover, some marks to lamination of front cover. Spine of book is very slight rolled. All in all a very good copy with a bright illustrated cover of a scarce book. (20144). Item #20144
