THE DARK MAN AND OTHERS. Robert E. Howard.

THE DARK MAN AND OTHERS.

Sauk City: Arkham House, 1963. Octavo, cloth. First edition. 2029 copies printed. Collects fifteen macabre and fantastic stories, most first published in WEIRD TALES. According to August Derleth, "The stories in this collection are, on the whole, secondary to the work found in the memorial omnibus [SKULL-FACE AND OTHERS (1946)], but they are no less readable." Includes the Pigeons From Hell, as well as two stories with Lovecratian influence; Dig Me No Grave and The Thing on the Roof. Vertical light glue residue line to paste-downs and free endpapers which are likely from a previous jacket protecter, light damp spot to upper right rear cover, a very good or better copy in a bright, nearly fine dust jacket with mild shelf wear to spine ends and a bit of rubbing to front corner tips.
