Inscribed and signed by King (dated, 9/12/39) on the front free end paper. Crime novel in which a faked murder becomes real. Filmed in 1947 by Orson Welles, starring Welles and Rita Hayworth (his then wife) as The Lady From Shanghai. From the library of a well-known mystery writer with his library stamp on the front paste-down, a very good copy in a very good dust jacket with wear and small loss to front corner tips and spine ends, color fade to spine panel, some over rubbing to front panel and folds, small closed tear to lower right front with creases.
